Today’s challenge: Write (and create) your own Keep Calm and Carry On poster. Can you make it about your condition? Then go to (http://www.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/) and actually make an image to post to your blog. Here is my final product:
For those that don’t know my story, I suffered from a postpartum psychotic episode on October 3, 2008 a few months after the birth of my second child. On a Friday afternoon, I left work and became extremely delusional, finally stopping my car on I-295 near Anacostia in Washington, D.C., getting out, removing all of my clothes, and then running naked on the side of the road until four strangers stopped to help me by calling 911. Afterwards I realized that stress played a role in my breakdown, hence the message to, “Keep Calm or End Up Naked.” Obviously hormones were the biggest factor in the incident and my psychologist has already warned me that the next time I need to be mindful of my moods on this level is during menopause. That’s a great visual (no not really). Carry on!
